What to expect

These 6 days Grand Sahara Desert Safari from the red city Marrakech to Ouarzazate, Merzouga and Zagora will enable you to discover the wonders of Moroccan Sahara desert. You will have an opportunity to take a step back in time and experience how Moroccan Berbers were living many decades back.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate - Skoura:

Early in the morning, you will wake up and go to enjoy your breakfast. Then getting ready to leave Marrakech towards Ouarzazate, crossing the High Atlas through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, where there are several stops along the way that give you the chance to enjoy the spectacular views of the valleys and Berber villages based on hills, after exploring them, you will meet the local Berber people, share their traditions and way of living continue towards Ouarzazate, or as people call it the Hollywood of Morocco, make a visit to its Cinema studios and discover the most beautiful old Kasbah in the Country; the Taourirt Kasbah, that was the main Glaoui residence. Afterwards, we will head to Skoura for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Skoura – Roses Valley - Tinghir;

After breakfast in a nice auberge; you will go for a walk around Skoura oasis in order to discover the area with a local guide, and enjoy the amazing views of the fertile oasis lined with immense Palm Groves. Then visit the most stunning old Kasbah in Skoura “Kasbah Ameridil” that was built in the 70th century by the Caïd of Skoura. Afterwards drive to Kelaat M’gouna through the rose’s valley, and after the discovery of the beautiful city, Continue towards Boumalne Dades, across Road of the thousand Kasbahs, fascinating earthen buildings, and before reaching Tinghir, you will stop at Todgha Gorges, considered the highest gorge in the country, where you will have a tasty Moroccan lunch ( at leisure). Just right after, We will continue our way to Dades Valley, which is a Great opportunity for those who love photography and walking, Enjoy watching the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages, majestic castles overlooking the valley.at the end of the day, you will have Dinner and overnight in Tinghir.

Day 3: Todgha Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga:

After a breakfast at the Gorge. We continue the road to a nomad settlement to know some of the secrets of their lives, as you can take pictures with them. Enjoy Berber lunch at Tinjdad which means 'nomad' in Tamazight, afterwards head to Erfoud, then continue to Merzouga, enjoy riding camels, and the magical sunset and sunrise over the sand dunes. Overnight at Berber Tents under a blanket of stars in the desert´s heart.

Day 4: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Zagora:

Early in the morning, after enjoying breakfast, we will leave Merzouga and head towards Rissani that is considered as the Alaouite dynasty cradle, it has a large souk, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; it is famous for its leather and goat skin trading. Then we will drive to Alnif; a green spot in a valley where several Anti-Atlas Mountains meet, and considered as the Centre of trilobites. In the evening we go ahead to Zagora for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Zagora - Tifoultout Kasbah – Ait Benhaddou:

The fifth day we will have the city tour of Zagora, and visit the Kasbah Tifoultout. Where you can make your way to the top of Kasbah, to enjoy some excellent views of the Palm Groves. After that, drive to Ait Benhaddou where you can take your lunch (at leisure) in a small traditional restaurant, then explore the area and visit its beautiful Kasbah. Later that day, you will have Dinner and overnight at Ait Benhaddou.

Day 6: Ait Benhaddou - Telouet - Marrakech:

After enjoying your breakfast, we will leave Ait Benhaddou to visit Telouet, it is considered as one of Morocco's most impressive Kasbahs. We continue our way to Marrakech crossing the Tizi N'Tichka pass, and stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant in the mountains. Afterwards visit the Argan Oil Cooperative and get to know more about it. Dinner and Overnight at Marrakech.

Je suis allée au Maroc en janvier avec mes amis et nous avons passé un merveilleux moment. Nous avons passé 3 jours à Agadir, Mirleft, Essaouira, j'aurais bien voulu passer plus de temps car il y avait beaucoup à faire et à voir. C'était une super expérience que j'aie jamais vu ... Merci Abdelmounaim pour votre hospitalité ! Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous y retournerons très bientôt !

Nous y sommes allés pour voir les montagnes de l'Atlas et divers endroits différents durant toute la journée tels qu'ils font argan huile d'olive et des villages berbères. Je dois dire que c'était le plus merveilleux. Le guide touristique Mohammed est fantastique! Ils se mettent en quatre pour qu'il puisse heureux de prendre des photos et son anglais était génial. Il a été super gentil et a rendu le jour si inoubliable et unique. Il nous a emmenés dans un magnifique restaurant où nous avons pris notre tagine à tomber par terre ! Toute la journée, c'est parfait. Les montagnes de l'Atlas sont incroyables avec des vues inoubliables. A cent pour cent vous recommander le jour de tout le monde.

Nous avons passé une très très agréable journée en compagnie de Mustapha et Imad, qui nous ont emmené voir de magnifiques cascades dans la vallée de l'Ourika.
